Student well-being and family involvement are vital for student success. Our district provides resources at every school and through the Parent Engagement Center to support all students and families. Research shows that when families partner with schools, students thrive, both academically and emotionally, creating a strong foundation for their future.
Under Mr. Cruz’s leadership, counselors were added to every school site. These counselors are trained continuously throughout the year and collaborate to provide the necessary support for students to thrive academically and emotionally. For all families, we provide a free service to coordinate health care to ALL families in Chino Valley.
The district employs a multi-tiered system of support to foster a positive school environment. Each school has dedicated teams that focus on ensuring a safe, thriving learning atmosphere. Through the LCAP, this board has allocated resources to enhance anti-bullying measures, reinforcing a secure environment for all students.
Under the leadership of board members Mr. Cruz and Mr. Na, the Biomedical Science and Technology Academy at Chino High School was established. This magnet program attracts students not only from Chino Valley but also from Diamond Bar, Walnut, Corona Norco, Glendora, and Placentia Yorba Linda, enhancing its reputation.
Under the leadership of board members Mr. Cruz and Mr. Na, the district launched two dual language programs: a Spanish program at Borba Elementary and a Mandarin program at Hidden Trails Elementary. These initiatives enrich students' educational experiences and promote bilingual proficiency from an early age.
Under Trustee Cruz’s leadership, Chino Valley has become a model of academic excellence. Key achievements include the establishment of dual language programs, the expansion of CTE programs at every high school, and the creation of a magnet program that attracts students from outside the district. The district also boasts award-winning band and performing arts programs and is one of only two in California to achieve Model Professional School District status, recognizing three years of improved student achievement.
We continually evaluate our salary schedules to offer competitive compensation packages comparable to other districts. We support employees with services like a reimbursement program for classified staff advancing their education and a training pipeline for teachers moving into administration. We also fund induction programs for new teachers, provide robust staff development, and offer mentorship through instructional coaches.
he district offers several committees for parent involvement, including the LCAP District Advisory Committee, DELAC for English Learners, the Parents as Partners (Special Education Committee), and the Health and Wellness Committee. These committees provide parents with opportunities to actively contribute to their children’s education and well-being.
